At the market, they sell a variety of heirloom vegetable plants, gourmet produce, container gardens, heirloom tomatoes, eggplant, cherry tomatoes, squash, beans, figs, pears, muscadines, and much more.
Tommy Bennett of Bennett-Burk Farms uses approved pesticide products made from plant-based compounds instead of petrochemical-based pesticides. He recommends The Veggie Gardener’s Answer Book by Barbara W. Ellis, which contains organic and alternative gardening practices and tips.
Tommy Bennett and Dennis Burk are big believers of helping market customers educate themselves on buying the best produce for their meals and home gardening. “It’s great to talk to vendors who use organic methods, so they can use the same practices in their home gardens,” he said.
